Chrissy Teigen supported the protest in New York by hiring food trucks. Teigen and husband, John Legend, paid several food trucks to deliver nutriment to people taking part in the protest over the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner in the Big Apple, over the weekend.
Due to their hectic work schedules, Chrissy Teigen and husband John Legend, could not take part in the protest taking place in New York over the non-indictments of the police officers, who killed Michael Brown and Eric Garner, according to The Inquisitr.
Teigen and Legend who are very vocal on social issues, decided to put their money where their mouths are by quietly hiring food trucks to feed those, who were taking part in the protest.
On Sunday, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen called several food trucks, including Kimchi Taco Truck and Milk Truck NYC to deliver meals to protesters marching and taking part in die-ins around New York’s Lincoln Square.
The couple has not really spoken about their generous contribution, but Kimchi Taco Truck did more or less confirm the news. Kimchi Taco Truck, which is known for its Korean BBQ food tweeted, late Sunday night:
“So much love for the super generous & thoughtful @chrissyteigen @johnlegend for their support. #BlackLivesMatter Now come get fed!”
To which Teigen replied by:
@KimchiTruck @johnlegend wish we could be there!! thank you for being a part of it!
Many of the protesters took to Twitter to thank Legend and Teigen for their contribution to the cause. Comedian Ted Alexandro, who is very active on social media and in the streets regarding the protest, tweeted:
Big thanks to @ophelporhush @johnlegend for feeding thousands of activists/organizers/NYers today! #BlackLivesMatter pic.twitter.com/vbk7vcFZB6

Charles Wade, who founded Operation Help or Hush (along with Nona Stewart and Tasha Burton), was contacted by John Legend and Chrissy Teigen to help feed the 3,000 hungry New York protesters.
Wade, who has been raising money since early August to buy food for those marching said that he was blown away by the stars’ action. He stated:
“I’ve personally never experienced people going this far out of their way for me and people that I know. It’s mindblowing to me … this was important to them. They made it happen.”
The model and food blogger has also confirmed that the food trucks donated all the extra food to the homeless. Last week, Legend retweeted the following moving poem written in honor of Eric Garner, a father of six who was put in a chokehold by a member of the New York Police Department.
A poem I wrote about Eric Garner, written solely with rearranged letters from the entirety of his last words. pic.twitter.com/LLhHVCPPlv

Chrissy Teigen’s husband co-wrote a song entitled “Glory,” featured in the movie Selma about the 1965 Selma to Montgomery marches, where he spoke about the events that occurred in Ferguson, Missouri.
What are your thoughts on Legend and Teigen’s decision to join in the protest by hiring food trucks?
