Tara Reid was bashed by Elizabeth Banks, but chose to be a real lady and took the high road. While promoting her new film Pitch Perfect 2, Elizabeth Banks randomly took a shot at Tara Reid by saying that she is one of those actresses who was unable to survive in the movie industry.
Tara Reid answers Elizabeth Banks‘ recent diss in a very classy way. Last week, while making the rounds to promote her new movie, Pitch Perfect 2, Elizabeth Banks sat down with The Hollywood Reporter for an interview where she spoke about her flourishing acting career.
In 2014 alone, Elizabeth Banks has appeared or voiced in six movies including Little Accidents, The Lego Movie, Walk of Shame, Every Secret Thing, Love and Mercy and of course The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1.
This year, Banks will reprise her role as Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 and will be starring in Magic Mike XXL.
You would think that after being blessed with all those great opportunities, Banks would have some sympathy for another starving actress, well think again.
Elizabeth Banks, who stars in and directed Pitch Perfect 2, told the reporter that few years ago, she used to audition with Tara Reid, and it is a pity that she went down a destructive path. Banks explained:
“A lot of us are surviving. Some of us are not. I used to go to auditions with Tara Reid. So, you know, we didn’t all make it. We’re not all still here.”
Upon realizing that her words sounded insensitive, Banks rapidly added:
“I do love Sharknado.”
Maybe Elizabeth Banks is angry at Tara Reid for appearing in the 2014 parody film called The Hungover Games where she played Effing White.
The Hungover Games, which was a direct-to-video movie, starring Bruce Jenner, Hank Baskett, Brandi Glanville and Camille Grammer, was directed by Josh Stolberg and mocked The Hangover and The Hunger Games.
After getting slammed by Banks, TMZ caught up with Reid and asked her thoughts on the interview. The 39-year-old American Pie actress gave a very diplomatic answer. She stated:
“I’ve always been a fan of her work and that’s sad to hear she said those things about me.”
Later on, Reid took to Twitter where she thanked her fans for being so supportive. She wrote:
“I just want to thank all my fans for being so amazing! I love you!”
Reid went on to add that if she did cross path with Banks she would tell her hello. In the late 1980s, Tara Reid was one of Hollywood’s IT girls after appearing in movies like Cruel Intentions, Urban Legends, American Pie, Josie & Tyhe Pussycats, Van Wilder and on TV’s Scrubs.
After few stints in rehab for her constant partying and alcohol addiction, botched plastic surgery and dramatic weight loss, she has mainly been seen in the Sharknado trilogy.
Some find Banks’ comments harsh, while others say Reid needs a reality check.
What are your thoughts on Elizabeth Banks’ Tara Reid’s diss?
