Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir dazzled at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday. Weir sported a black suit and headpiece while Lipinski opted for a mesh nude gown. Fans of Lipinski and Weir can catch them next month as they dish out their fashion expertise on the red carpet of the Kentucky Derby.
Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir stunned at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner at the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C. on Saturday.
NBC invited Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir to the 2015 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner. The former figure skaters and BFFs arrived hand in hand with Tara Lipinski looking fabulous in a nude and black mesh gown by Rubin Singer and gold curls in a messy side updo.
Not to be outdone by Tara Lipinski, Johnny Weir opted for a black tuxedo, bow tie, and cropped pants. To complete the look, Weir sported a bridal headpiece. The pair mingled with Modern Family stars – Eric Stonestreet, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Julie Bowen – at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner.
The NBC figure skating analyst was happy to blog about her trip to the nation’s capital. Prior to the event, she wrote that she was humbled by the invitation:
“I am so humbled and honored to tell you guys that I will be heading to the White House Correspondents dinner tomorrow night. Confession – I am a bundle of nerves writing this on my way to DC. No matter the size of the stage, audience or rink, there’s something extra intimidating about being in the presence of our country’s leaders.”
Tara Lipinski went on to share that she had a tough time picking an outfit:
“Aside from brushing up on current events, House of Cards, and Veep for research, I’ve got a few important questions on my mind… Will the secret service confiscate my Hershey’s bar from my purse? What on earth am I going to wear? What can I wear that matches a purse large enough for my Hershey’s bar?”
She concluded by letting her fans know that she would share loads of pictures via Instagram. Lipinski added:
“Answers to these important questions in the event recap and check Instagram tomorrow night for a look at the dress.
Now I’ve got to get to DC and track down my hot date. Johnny, where are you? It’s time to coordinate!
