Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir stunned at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner at the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C. on Saturday.

NBC invited Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir to the 2015 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner. The former figure skaters and BFFs arrived hand in hand with Tara Lipinski looking fabulous in a nude and black mesh gown by Rubin Singer and gold curls in a messy side updo.

Not to be outdone by Tara Lipinski, Johnny Weir opted for a black tuxedo, bow tie, and cropped pants. To complete the look, Weir sported a bridal headpiece. The pair mingled with Modern Family stars – Eric Stonestreet, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Julie Bowen – at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner.

The NBC figure skating analyst was happy to blog about her trip to the nation’s capital. Prior to the event, she wrote that she was humbled by the invitation:

“I am so humbled and honored to tell you guys that I will be heading to the White House Correspondents dinner tomorrow night. Confession – I am a bundle of nerves writing this on my way to DC. No matter the size of the stage, audience or rink, there’s something extra intimidating about being in the presence of our country’s leaders.”

Tara Lipinski went on to share that she had a tough time picking an outfit:

“Aside from brushing up on current events, House of Cards, and Veep for research, I’ve got a few important questions on my mind… Will the secret service confiscate my Hershey’s bar from my purse? What on earth am I going to wear? What can I wear that matches a purse large enough for my Hershey’s bar?”

She concluded by letting her fans know that she would share loads of pictures via Instagram. Lipinski added:

“Answers to these important questions in the event recap and check Instagram tomorrow night for a look at the dress.

Now I’ve got to get to DC and track down my hot date. Johnny, where are you? It’s time to coordinate!

My bag is one of my favorites, Leni Penn.

Xo, Tara.”

She kept her promise, see pictures below.

After the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir will once more become fashion critics at the Kentucky Derby next week.

  1. It’s Johnny Weir….Why should he act any differently than he normally does. Do you think he’s the only one who has ever been there that is a little off the wall? He is who he is and doesn’t pretend or hide. Go Johnny!!!!!

  2. Two of my favorite people. Congratulations Tara, you finally outdressed Johnny, at age 73, I didn’t think anyone could! <3 <3 <3 you Tara and Johnny 4 ever!

  3. Seriously? Johnny wore a tux and a bow tie. It may not have been your taste, but what could be considered inappropriate? Sounds like the gender police are on the case again.

  4. I think they looked great. He is his own person, nothing wrong with that and she is adorable.

  5. I love their uniqueness! Bravo to them; they look great. Can’t wait to hear their spin on the Kentucky Derby.

  6. If his getup is the definition of “dazzle” its missing the mark!! Pointed toed shoes, high water trousers, and a fluffy bowtie…??!!
(No need to comment on the jewelry…) At least Tara looked nice..

  7. I think Johnny looked fine…and like an individual. I like it when people express themselves in unique and Artistic ways…Sheep are boring, dressing all the same is so boring! It’s nice to see Individuals who are not afraid to be themselves, wherever they go.
