Porn actress Stormy Daniels, who rose to fame because of her involvement in the cheating scandal around President Donald Trump, was recently detained by police in Ohio.
Apparently, the adult films actress overstepped her boundaries when she was performing at a strip club and let customers touch her body.
As Daniels’ lawyer explained on Thursday, her actions were deemed as illegal in this state of America.
Michael Avenatti, the actress’ attorney, also stated that when Daniels made an appearance at the strip club Sirens in Columbus, she again allowed people to touch her in a non-intimate manner.
However, according to the Community Defense Act that is valid in the Buckeye State, it is strictly prohibited for naked or half-naked entertainers to be touched by anyone who is not their relative or a spouse.
The actress, whose offstage name is Stephanie Clifford, was arrested early on Thursday and was expected to be charged with an act of misdemeanor.
According to Avenatti, what happened with Daniels was a complete set-up, and he expressed the opinion that it was absurd to waste so many law enforcement resources only to detain a performer in a strip club for non-sexual touching.
Meanwhile, no representative from the Columbus strip club could be reached for comments.
Daniels is mostly known for her statements that Mr. Trump cheated on his wife, Melania Trump, with her back in 2006.
Since the porn actress’ story broke out, the president has fiercely denied all of her claims.
Currently, Daniels is suing Trump and his former attorney, Michael Cohen, as an effort to free herself from the nondisclosure agreement she signed before the presidential elections in 2016.
Hours later, the charges were dropped, and Daniels was quick to say on social media that she was ready to hit the stage at the same club.
Avenatti has teased about a potential run for president in 2020.
