According to an official statement from her rep, Stana Katic married Kris Brkljac, a business consultant, the day of her 37th birthday on the Dalmatian coast, where her parents are from. Katic, who plays Kate Beckett on ABC’s Castle and Kris Brkljac, shared a black and white picture from the wedding ceremony.
Stana Katic marries Kris Brkljac in an intimate ceremony in Europe, and fans of the TV star could not be happier.
The very private Castle actress surprised many by announcing that on Saturday, as she was celebrating her 37th birthday, she also got married.
That is right, Stana Katic married her longtime boyfriend, Kris Brkljac, a business efficiency consultant, in a lavish and intimate ceremony on the Dalmatian coast in Croatia.
Oddly enough, Katic’s character Kate Beckett married Richard Castle played by Nathan Fillion this TV season in an episode called “The Time of Our Lives.”
It was rumored that the Canadian stars were dating in real life, but Katic had always denied those claims. Stana Katic did not share many details about the ceremony other than a black and white picture of the wedding bands. A rep for The Tourist actress said:
“The couple married in a private family monastery on the Dalmatian coast.”
Stana Katic and Nathan Fillion just wrapped up the seventh season of Castle and rumors are flying high saying that it might the last one. If the series gets another season, there is also a big possibility that Katic might be leaving. She explained:
“If the character is complete, if there is nowhere else to go creatively, then I think it’s better to stop when you’re on top.So for me it’s about art over finance, and as long as we’re creating something that is compelling and that has somewhere to go, then we’re good to go.”
The Season 7 finale of Castle will air on May 11. Via Twitter, she hinted that she might be ready to say goodbye like Nina Dobrev and Patrick Dempsey. She wrote:
“Proud of all we’ve accomplished. Grateful 4 being part of the ride.”
Katic, who is recently worked on The Tourist with Marco Bonini and Brett Dalton, might put her acting career on hold to start a family.
