According to police on Sunday night at around 9 PM, six young friends between the ages of 15 to 23 were killed in a horrible car accident.
20-year-old Jonathan Lang was the driver of the 2004 Chevrolet Impal that was heading southbound on Bonnie View Road near Persimmon Road (it appears that the clan was heading back home after an event).
Two sisters, 21-year-old Quatia Irving and 23-year-old Keneesha Bradford also lost their lives.
Kentron Haskins and Trey Woodberry both 15 years of age and 16-year-old Cedric Johnson who were football players at Justin F. Kimball High School in Westmoreland Rd, Texas died in the tragic car crash.
The police report showed that the driver who appeared to be speeding lost control of the Chevrolet Impala after the passenger-side rear’s tire hit a curb.
The vehicle went on to slide across three lanes before smashing into a tree in the median.
Dallas police officer Monica Cordova who was among the first people to arrive on the scene explained, that the maroon Chevrolet was completely destroyed.
Cordova revealed that alcohol and drugs were not factors in the horrible crash, but went on to say that Jonathan Lang was speeding when he hit the tree.
A witness told authorities that she believes that the car was going at least 100 mph in a 40 mph zone, according to Travelers Today.
Carlton Nelson, Kimball’s football coach, spoke about the three students he lost, saying that they were all good kids with potential to be great leaders.
Nelson said he was especially fond of 16-year-old Cedric Johnson who was a defensive tackle and an excellent prankster.
Johnson had a great sense of humor and always made his teammates laugh with his silly jokes.
The school has issued a statement saying that they will be offering counseling for grieving students and teachers who have been affected by this tragedy. According to The Inquisitr, it read:
“Dallas ISD is deeply saddened to learn that three students at Justin F. Kimball High School have died as the result of a traffic accident on Aug. 30 [sic] in Oak Cliff. Grief counselors will be at Kimball and both T.W. Browne Middle School and Daniel Webster Elementary School, where siblings of the victims are enrolled, to help those school communities address this loss.”
