Sharknado 3 has a release date and fans of the B-movie series could not be happier. Ian Ziering and Tara Reid have signed on for the third installment of the successful made-for-television satirical disaster film.
Sharknado 3 has a premiere date and the excitement is already quite palpable. The SyFy B-movie series returns in July with its two main stars, Ian Ziering and Tara Reid. The actress, who plays April Wexler, Ziering’s character Finley “Fin” Shepard’s ex-wife, is the one who made the big announcement. The network also announced the movie at the Television Critics Association winter press tour event in Pasadena. Reid, 39, took to Twitter to share the news. On Thursday, she wrote:

3.9 million viewers watched Sharknado 2: The Second One in 2014, making it SyFy’s most-watched movie. The original Sharknado was also a huge success, it was seen by over 2.1 million people. Experts believe the third version will at least do better than the first one. Sharknado has developed a strong following online, some critics go as far as describing it as being so bad that it is good. The series is America’s little guilty pleasure.
After Los Angeles, New York City, Sharknado 3 will be taking supporters to Washington, D.C. and Florida. SyFy says the sharks will “roar down the eastern seaboard.” Anthony C. Ferrante, who directed the first two movies, will also return behind the camera. Thunder Levin will also be back to write the script. It will be interesting to see if some politicians in the nation’s capital will appear in this new Sharknado.
The series has become so popular that celebrities are lining up for a cameo spot. What are your thoughts on Sharknado 3‘s July premiere?
