Music legend Shania Twain has cancelled several dates from her farewell tour dubbed the Rock This Country tour. In a lengthy post on Facebook, a representative for the “Any Man of Mine” singer explained that she was recently diagnosed with a respiratory infection, which prompted her to cancel shows in New York and New Hampshire.
According to the statement, Twain has annulled shows that were set for October 6 in Manchester, New Hampshire and on October 7 in Albany, New York. Sadly for fans of Shania Twain, her hectic world tour will not make it possible for her to reschedule, translation – this is the Canadian country star’s last tour ever, and those who do not get to see her on stage during the Rock This Country tour will never see her in concert again. Shania Twain’s Rock This Country tour dates at the Verizon Wireless Arena on October 6th in Manchester, NH and the Times Union Center on October 7th in Albany, NY have been cancelled due to illness. Shania Twain’s doctors have advised her to rest for several days after she was diagnosed with a respiratory infection.
It goes on to say:
The concert dates are unable to be rescheduled due to Shania Twain’s current touring schedule. All tickets will be refunded at point of purchase. Shania Twain apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause her fans and greatly appreciates their understanding. The tour will resume on October 9th at the Videotron Centre in Quebec City.
On October 11, the diva will wrap up the concerts in Toronto, Ontario at the Air Canada Centre. In a long interview with ET, the “You Lay a Whole Lot of Love on Me” singer, who recently completed her 2-year residency at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada, said she wanted to retire from touring by going out all over the world to meet her fans and bid them adieu.
She went on to add, that while her touring days are over, she plans to continue to release new music. Twain confessed:
“I’ve got lots of records to make, I’ve got lots of singing to still do, but just the touring end of it is something I want to move on from. I realized that I can’t make records and tour at the same time.”
Twain, who is currently working on her next album, said she would love to collaborate with Nick Jonas, who has a crush on her and talented singer and songwriter Sia.
