Sadie Robertson DWTS move will please Duck Dynasty fans. After weeks of rumors and speculations, it is now official, 17-year-old Sadie Robertson will be part of the cast of ABC’s hit reality show Dancing with the Stars Season 19.
The Sadie Robertson DWTS connection is no longer a possibility, it became real on Thursday when the alphabet network announced the names of the 13 celebrities who will be competing on the new season of Dancing with the Stars. The Louisiana native will be dancing with professional Mark Ballas who won Season 8 of the show with Olympic gold-medal winning gymnast Shawn Johnson.
Robertson is the youngest contestant on the list. She is followed closely by video blogger Bethany Mota who is 18. Sadie Robertson rose to fame via A&E reality television series Duck Dynasty. Her parents are Korie Howard Robertson and Willie Robertson. She is the granddaughter of the show’s controversial patriarch Phil Robertson who landed in big trouble in 2013 for his views on homosexuality, expressed during an interview with GQ magazine.
The 68-year-old grandfather said back then that homosexuality was sinful and he could not understand why people would engage in such behavior. Sadie did support her grandfather when a huge backlash following the comments threatened to end Duck Dynasty.
The Robertson family is very open about the importance of the Christian faith in their lives. Sadie even attended a Christian academy in Louisiana. The young woman who has over one million followers on Twitter is not afraid to talk about her beliefs. Her short bio on the social networking website reads:
Charm is deceptive and beauty fleeting; the woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. (Proverbs 31:30).
The aspirant model hopes to take her message to a wider audience. Some people believe that Sadie Robertson can go very far on Dancing with the Stars Season 19. The young Robertson is very athletic and she has a very loyal and devoted following. Her partner Ballas has a habit of pushing conservative-leaning ladies like Bristol Palin and Candace Cameron-Bure to unexpected dancing heights.
The competition for the mirrorball trophy will be fierce this year. So, who will Sadie Robertson be going against?
