Ryan Seacrest’s Knock Knock Live was canceled after barely two episodes and extremely poor ratings. Episode Two aired on Tuesday and was watched by 1.6 million viewers.
Ryan Seacrest is usually linked to the word success, but his latest reality show, Knock Knock Live, got canceled after two episodes on Fox at 9 pm. The program brought together celebrities and ordinary people, who were up for different prizes.
Produced by Dick Clark Productions and XIX Entertainment, Knock Knock Live was heavily promoted by the television network and Seacrest, who had a lot of faith in the program. Justin Bieber was a guest in the second episode, while David Beckham and Common appeared in the first one. Martha Stewart, Ariana Grande, Meghan Trainor and Lea Michele were set to appear in future episodes.
Reruns of Brooklyn Nine-Nine of The Last Man on Earth will replace Seacrest’s show. Although Fox did not put out an official statement about the cancellation, Variety reports that Fox affiliates were notified on Thursday.
The premiere of Knock Knock Live was watched by 1.75 million people on July 21. One week later, 1.60 viewers tune in to see Bieber hand out donations and take a teen girl to a quinceañera party. The ratings were even worse in the demo (18-49) – 0.5 and 0.9.
Critics were not really impressed by what they saw either. Some commentators went as far as calling Knock Knock Live, “the dumbest game show in history.” Few also complained about the fact that the whole thing looked fake while Seacrest kept pushing the “live” angle.
All was not bad, few fans did take to Twitter to show their appreciation. One person wrote:
@RyanSeacrest Your an amazing person and i know i am late but saw #KnockKnockLive and was touched what u and @justinbieber did.
Another supporter added:
@RyanSeacrest What a shame #KnockKnockLive was cancelled. For me, it was like watching a whole hour of @TheEllenShow’s ‘Cash At Your Door’.
What are your thoughts on Ryan Seacrest’s Knock Knock Live getting cancelled?

I always thought Ryan would be a successor for Dick Clark, the best entertainer and host ever and I wasn’t wrong, Ryan Seacrest now is the best host and entertainer ever. He is funny and talented and make people want to hear what he has to say with an amicable and talented voice and his strong presence. When he started this Knock Knock show I knew it wouldn’t last not because of Ryan, the show even though it meant well, had not purpose specially in todays economy. Ryan if you are interested, I have a good script for a new show you might be interested on and will be happy to submit to you. I am not looking for monetary compensation but to enrich the life of a person anywhere in the world and with a show that will have purpose and more importantly a heart. Email me, thanks!
