Ronda Rousey claimed a real sweetheart and gentleman by the name of Jarrod Haschert escorted her to the Marine Corps Ball. While she did not dance, Rousey stated that she had a fantastic time with Marine Lance Cpl. Jarrod Haschert.
Is Ronda Rousey a real sweetheart? Hell no, Rousey is a real mean fighting machine, but Marine Lance Cpl. Jarrod Haschert is. On Friday, the last Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Champion showed that she is really a woman of her words by attending the annual Marine Corps Ball in South Carolina.
Several pictures of the soirée surfaced online where the mixed martial arts fighter looked stunning in a black gown with her long blonde hair cascading over her shoulders. Via Instagram, the athlete said:
“Thank you Lance Cpl. Jarrod Haschert for taking me to the Marine Corps Ball, being such a gentleman, and putting a smile on my face again.”
TMZ caught up with Rousey at LAX Airport where she did a brief interview and explained that Haschert was very charming, and added:
“He was a real gentleman and a real sweetheart. It was the only smiling I’ve been doing, I think. He’s gotta be a gentleman, though, I’m not a first date kind of girl. But, I dunno, we’ll see when I meet him.”
When asked if she danced at the ball, she replied by saying:
“I don’t dance in public.”
The former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion went on to say it was an honor to attend. She revealed:
“I told him that I would be personally offended if he ever came in town and didn’t hit me up.”
Ronda Rousey said it was the outing she needed after her stunning defeat to Holly Holm last month. Rousey shared:
“Honestly, I probably would stay on my couch crying and eating ice cream for like another month if he didn’t ask me to go.”
In August, Haschert posted a video on Facebook asking Rousey to accompany him to the event. The Marine confessed at the time:
“You are my celebrity crush. I love everything that you do, and I think that you are a phenomenal person which is why it would be my honor to take you to the Marine Corps Ball on December 11. I really hope this doesn’t get in the way of your training … but I hope you take this into consideration, because if you do, you will truly be making my dream come true.”
The heartfelt video quickly got over four million views and was eventually seen by Rousey, who gladly accepted.
