Reporter quits for marijuana on live TV and drops an F bomb, and of course the video goes viral. Alaska reporter Charlo Greene aka Charlene Ebge surprises viewers and her colleagues as she quits her job in order to focus on her marijuana business, and fight to legalize pot in the state.
The story of the Alaska reporter who worked for KTVA, and quit her job while doing a segment on live television is making headlines.
The reporter known as Charlo Greene, but whose real name is Charlene Ebge has unveiled a Youtube video where she explained her actions.
Charlo Greene is a lover of pot and she is the owner of the Alaska Cannabis Club, she was reporting on her own business when she said “fuck this, I quit,” proceeded to remove her mic and abruptly left the stage.
In a statement, KTVA has apologized to its viewers and explained that the marijuana supporter has been fired. Charlene Ebge said she quit for several reasons, but the main one is to make marijuana legal in Alaska.
The reporter believes that if adults in America have the right to drink alchool and smoke as many cigarettes as they like, people who are fan of cannabis should not be punished by the law.
The journalist plans to dedicate her time and energy:
“toward fighting for freedom and fairness, which begins with legalizing marijuana in Alaska. Why are Americans arrested every 37 seconds, Alaskans every 4.3 hours?
The Alaska Cannabis Club’s president and CEO has raised more than $6K in the minutes after quitting her job in order to campaign for Ballot Measure 2, an initiative that would regulate marijuana like alcohol in Alaska.
Alaskans will vote on the measure on November 4.
Most people say the reporter who quit her job to fight for marijuana to be legal, is talented and smart. They believe she is a great voice for the cause, but it is a pity she had to grab headlines in such a crude way.
