The rumors of Rebel Wilson taking part in an Adele biopic are making headlines. Miss Adele apparently caught wind of those rumors and reacted in a very negative way.
If there is ever a biopic about Adele, one thing is sure; she does not want Rebel Wilson playing her.
For a couple of weeks now, rumors have been flying around that a movie is being made about iconic British singer Adele, and the producers were interested in having Australian funny lady Rebel Wilson in the lead role.
While at a concert the “Hello” singer said she does not want Wilson near the project. She said:
“I’ve heard there are rumors Rebel Wilson will be playing me in a movie — let’s see if that turns out to be true. Just because I’m plus-sized doesn’t mean she’s playing me.”
She added:
“They need my f***ing permission.”
The talented diva went on to talk about her upcoming appearance at Glastonbury by saying:
“One of the reasons I’m doing Glastonbury is to annoy all the people who are annoyed. Although I’m planning to go in disguise – perhaps as Beyonce, although I’d need to get a spray tan and that wouldn’t be considered politically correct. That said, I’m a huge fan of hers. Pat Butcher might be a good alternative or maybe Ariel, the Little Mermaid.”
An alleged friend of Wilson stated that she is hoping that by playing Adele it will prove that she is a “serious actress.” The pal added:
“This is going to be a huge challenge for her because Adele is a legend at the peak of her popularity. Rebel can’t match Adele’s vocal talents but she can certainly sing. And, with a little technical wizardry, she’ll sound just like her in the movie. Rebel was desperate to receive Adele’s blessing on the project.”
Wilson was quick to respond to Adele’s comments with a tweet that read:
I have never been offered to play Adele in a biopic…completely made up tabloid story with fictitious unnamed source! Love Adele though X
