According to co-star Melissa Peterman, Reba McEntire is great after announcing that she was divorcing Narvel Blackstock, her husband of 26 years. Peterman, who starred in the series Baby Daddy and Reba with McEntire, and the music legend have been vacationing together all over America.
Reba McEntire‘s co-star and very good friend, Melissa Peterman, briefly talked to the media explaining that the country star is doing great despite the recent divorce announcement.
In fact, McEntire is doing so well that she plans to continue promoting her twenty-seventh studio album, Love Somebody, by debuting a new single called “Until They Don’t Love You” on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon next week.
Melissa Peterman had the following to say about the “She Got Drunk Last Night” artist:
“I’ve talked to her and she’s doing great. Beyond what she said in her statement, I love her and I wish her all my love, and that’s all I can say right now. I love her. We love you Reba!”
On Monday, Reba McEntire surprised many by announcing that after 26 long years, she was divorcing her manager and husband, Narvel Blackstock.
The former steel guitar player and the country diva, who lived by the motto “respect, faith, love, trust, and lots of patience,” both wed for the second time on a boat in a small Lake Tahoe ceremony in 1989.
The couple has an adult son named Shelby and McEntire is very close to her three stepchildren, especially her stepson, Brandon Blackstock, who is the husband of Kelly Clarkson. The statement read:
“Despite this being the end of their marriage, they continue to support each other. They have worked together for 35 years and will continue to do so. They have asked that you respect their privacy during this time.”
According to several reports, McEntire and Blackstock have been living separate lives for several months prior to officially revealing their split.
It is also being claimed that McEntire’s friend and daughter-in-law, Kelly Clarkson, tried very hard to persuade the couple to stay together. A spy said:
“They’ve been living apart for two years. Kelly urged them not to split and she’s the reason they didn’t split earlier. She was really fighting for them to make it work and stay together.”
McEntire and Peterman, who worked together on Reba from 2001 to 2007, reunited with her on ABC Family’s Baby Daddy finale on July 30.
In the episode titled “It’s a Nice Day For a Wheeler Wedding,” McEntire took on the role of Charlotte, “an old friend of Peterman’s character Bonnie, who tries to seduce her fiancé Brad (Peter Porte), in an effort to ruin their wedding.”
Below are few pictures of McEntire and her co-star having fun and keeping her head high despite the heartache.
