Prince Charles and Charlotte have already bonded to the point that he has revealed that he is hoping that she will take care of him when he gets older.
Prince Charles hopes that Charlotte will play a part in his retirement plan. Just hours after Prince William and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed baby Charlotte, proud grandfather, Prince Charles was at the Poundbury Cancer Institute, a new research facility he was opening and took few questions from the crowd.
Asked if he was happy to have a granddaughter, Prince Charles confessed that he was hoping for a baby girl. Prince William and Duchess of Cambridge are already the parents of Prince George of Cambridge, who will be 2 in July.
Prince Charles replied by saying that he was praying for a baby girl because he wants Princess Charlotte of Cambridge (Charlotte Elizabeth Diana) to look after him when he is older. The 66-year-old said:
“I was hoping for a grand-daughter – someone to look after me when I am very old.”
He went on to add that Princess Charlotte is beautiful and told well-wishers that he will spoil her as much as he can.
After visiting the center, Prince Charles took a stroll at a nearby coffee shop, where an employee of the Poundbury Gardens gave him a Charlotte Rose named after the princess.
Thrilled by the gift, Prince Charles told the staff member:
“A Charlotte Rose? You have managed to do that already? How marvellous, how jolly nice to see it. It will look beautiful in my gardens.”
While the British family is happy to have a flower named after their newest member, they were not enchanted by the idea of a Japanese zoo calling a baby monkey Charlotte in honor of the princess. After the Takasakiyama Natural Zoological Garden had said they were planning to name a macaque Charlotte, they were slammed by people from all over the world.
Zoo official Akira Asano has revealed that they have canceled their plans and has apologized. Asano said:
“We deeply apologize for causing trouble to many people over the naming of the first baby (monkey). We take these opinions seriously.”
Prince Charles confessed to the researchers at the Poundbury Cancer Institute that he is “really rather thrilled” every time he visits the baby girl. Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, were pictured twice visiting Princess Charlotte at Kensington Palace.
The family of four has since left Kensington for Norfolk, where they have a ten-bedroom mansion gifted to them by the Queen.

Sorry Prince Charles is into stereo typing – couldn’t Prince George do the caregiving.
