Rumors about the alleged breakup of Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande are false, at least according to the Saturday Night Live cast himself.
The comedian made a post on social media which explained how things were between him and Ariana lately.
He stated that he saw no issues in his current relationship, and his recent behavior was caused by a desire to get off social media as a whole.
He specified that he wants to not only leave Instagram — where he posted his explanation in the first place — but every other social media platforms that he is currently using.
Davidson is tired of the way the Internet works and sees it as a negative influence in his life, which has been the primary factor behind his sudden decision.
It is not surprising to hear someone of his age expressing such sentiments, as resentment towards social media has been a growing trend among younger generations, much to the disappointment of companies like Facebook.
Last week, Davidson’s Instagram had no posts except the one with the explanation of the current situation.
Moreover, it is not clear if he plans to retain the account as a whole, although it would not be surprising to see him wiping it entirely after enough people have had a chance to read his explanation.
Whether we are going to see more of him through Grande’s presence on social media remains to be seen, although she would likely respect her partner’s desire for privacy from now on when making new posts on any platform that she frequently uses.
