Patient stabbed in Indiana hospital lead to the discovery of another stabbing victim in the same area.
On Friday morning the Methodist Hospital Southlake located in Merrillville, Indiana was on lock down for seven hours after a female patient was stabbed to death.
After a very loud argument, Margarine Haywood, 80, was killed by a man in his mid-40s who fled the scene.
Police arrested the unnamed man in a home few miles from the hospital.
Multiple sources have confirmed to the media that the killer is the couple’s son who lived Carolina Street.
The suspect has refused to talk to police and explain why he murdered his parents.
Authorities also conducted a search in the elderly woman’s home in the 1500-block of Hovey Street in Gary where they made a gruesome discovery.
Margarine’s lifeless husband James Haywood, 88, was found covered with blood.
Mr Haywood was also stabbed numerous times, according to the Gary police department.
It is believed, the man killed both of his parents after a heated argument prior in the day.
The Haywoods leave behind several children and grandchildren.
Neighbors are also mourning the pair who they claimed were very loving and friendly.
A devastated family friend said that despite being 88 years of age, James was doing a fine job taking care of Margarine who was often sick and was wheelchair-bound.
The friend added that he will miss the pair, especially Mrs Haywood who would often wave at him from her living room window.
