Olivia Wilde and a few of Donald Trump’s supporters are at war via Twitter, of course. Wilde, a New Yorker, was told to go back where she came from after she stated in an interview that she can not support a candidate running for president, who is promoting xenophobia by constantly talking about building a wall.
Olivia Wilde, a born and raised New Yorker, might have to go back where she came from if some of Donald Trump‘s supporters have their way. Wilde, who is currently promoting her fantastic film, Meadowland, in which she plays an emotionally-drained mother/teacher who loses her son, recently did an interview where she got very political.
Wilde, whose father is an English/Irish journalist, said she can not support Donald Trump, who is currently running for president. The People Like Us and Alpha Dog actress said she feels that Mr. Trump is promoting hatred and added:
“It made me think of the current refugee crisis.[America] was a beacon of hope for so many … yet some in this country have developed this xenophobia that totally conflicts with what we’re based on. The fact that we can have someone running for president who openly projects that xenophobia is really sickening, particularly when you look at a film like this and remember our root.”
The comment quickly went viral, which prompted several of Trump’s supporters to take to Twitter to slam her. One person told Miss Wilde, who is both American and Irish to go back to Ireland. The person tweeted:
If you don’t like TRUMP go back to Ireland RT@nypost Big mouth, Olivia Wilde “The fact that we can have someone running for president …”
Olivia Wilde gave the following answer:
Ok Trump-lovers, I will do as you suggest and go back to where I came from… which happens to be NYC so I'm just gonna chill. Thanks!

Olivia Wilde, who has publicly supported Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton and was seen seen on several occasions with First Lady Michelle Obama, has been very vocal about the GOP’s bashing of her candidate over the email scandal. Wilde stated:
“It’s pure sexism. This bullshit about her not seeming ‘warm’ enough is pure misogyny. It’s ridiculous. I think she’s one of the loveliest, most personable politicians I’ve ever met – much warmer than other politicians, in fact. That’s pure sexism.”
Olivia Wilde is set to appear in Love the Coopers out on November 13.
