According to the police, two Oklahoma teens were arrested after a silent 911 call led to the discovery of the lifeless bodies of five family members. The male teens, who were apprehended as they were trying to flee the scene of the crime, are related to the victims.
Two Oklahoma teens were arrested in the gruesome murder case of five people. On Wednesday evening, authorities in Oklahoma received a silent 911 call, (a person dialed 911, but never spoke to the operator), from a Tulsa home.
When members of the Broken Arrow Police Department arrived on the scene, they discovered a shocking scene where five people from the same family had been stabbed to death. Among the victims were children. They found two minors alive; one was critically injured, while the other was unharmed.
Sgt. Thomas Cooper of the Broken Arrow Police Department said that it is very difficult to comprehend what he and others have witnessed. The law enforcer said:
“This is a relatively safe community, smaller than Tulsa and what you might call a bedroom community, the crime scene has taken a pretty heavy toll on officers who have come out here. It hits close to home, especially when the victims are adults and juveniles. Our officers have a lot to take in.”
As the police were searching the crime scene, they saw two teens running away in a wooded area. Using dogs, they were able to arrest two males – a 16-year-old and an 18-year-old – who are related to all five victims. Cooper added:
“It appears that the two suspects fled out the door sometime during our arrival. We had a K-9 track and they were apprehended.”
Helen Hoagland, a neighbor of the victims, claimed that she used to see the mother walking in the neighborhood with her children. According to Hoagland, the mom was very strict and homeschooled them.
She also shared that the children used to help decorate the neighborhood’s entrance each Christmas, but they stopped taking part in the tradition a few years ago without any explanation.
The two Oklahoma teens, who were arrested, have not been charged with any crime.
