Nikki Reed has been banned from the set of The Vampire Diaries over her relationship with Ian Somerhalder, who previously dated co-star, Nina Dobrev, according to a new rumor that just surfaced.
Is Nikki Reed banned from seeing her boyfriend Ian Somerhalder at work? If rumors are to be believed, the answer to this question is yes. The season 6 of The Vampire Diaries is offering fans of the show as much drama on the small screen than off of it.
It started with Somerhalder and his new girlfriend getting really affectionate in public. Examiner reports that they have an “electric connection.” The PDA made the situation uncomfortable for the actor’s ex-lover, Nina Dobrev, who happens to be the star of the show. Dobrev and Somerhalder dated for close to two years, they broke things off in May 2013.
Since her contract is ending next year, producers of TVD want to make sure that Dobrev is happy, so they have asked the 35-year-old star of The Rules of Attraction, to be more discreet with his new flame, according to the Hollywood Life. A source told the celebrity news website:
“Ian and Nikki’s relationship is causing a lot of drama, to the point where the producers have asked Ian not to bring Nikki to set when Nina is there because they are very worried about losing her. They worry that the show would fall apart without her.”
Nina Dobrev has more or less become the face of her network in recent years. The Vampire Diaries is not doing as well it used to, but it remains one of the strongest programs on the CW’s lineup.
At 25, Dobrev is sensing that she has more power at the bargaining table. She is one role away from a big movie career or she could easily land on a bigger network if she is not pleased with her situation on the set of The Vampire Diaries. So, there is probably some truth to the Nikki Reed ban talks.
