Morena Baccarin asked a judge to give her full custody of her son because she is pregnant and is getting ready to remarry. Baccarin, who is currently embroiled in a nasty divorce battle with her estranged husband, Austin Chick, is expecting a child with her Gotham co-star, Ben McKenzie.
Morena Baccarin is about to add another member to her family, get a divorce and remarry – possibly all in the same month – Dr. Leslie Thompkins is one busy lady.
Gotham actress Morena Baccarin was in court this week asking a judge in New York to grant her full custody of her two-year-old son, Julius, whom she shares with film producer and director, Austin Chick.
Baccarin married Chick in November 2011, and he filed for divorce in June citing irreconcilable differences. During the court proceedings, Baccarin dropped a couple of bombshells. The Back in the Day star explained that she needs to have her son living with her full time because she can not continue with the constant traveling between New York and California – the reason – she is almost 4 months pregnant.
The Brazilian beauty stated that her Gotham co-star, Ben McKenzie, is the father of the baby. Wait, there is more, Mrs. Baccarin told the judge that she is getting ready to marry McKenzie. The Death in Love actress explained:
“Today, I am in a new committed relationship. I am planning to re-marry. Also, I am 3 1/2 months pregnant.”
Baccarin also shared a series of text messages between herself and Chick to illustrate how ugly their relationship had become. She wrote to her soon-to-be former husband:
“I’d like to be there alone with Julius. Please Friday all day and night through Sunday morning.”
Chick responded:
“I’d like to run Fox Studios and remake The Sound of Music w an entirely black cast of hip hop artist.”
Despite her plea, the judge ruled that the parents will have to get along and share joint custody of their son. A source close to Chick revealed that he was surprised by the affair. The insider claimed:
“Austin was totally shocked when he found out about the affair. Totally blindsided. When Morena left him for Ben, Austin was devastated — completely shocked.”
The source went on to share that Chick learned that Baccarin and McKenzie were together after someone sent him a photo of them getting cozy in Vancouver. The person said:
“Austin confronted Morena about the photo. She didn’t deny it and said she no longer wanted to work on [their] marriage.”
