A Nicki Minaj abortion confession is back in the news, thanks to her latest interview in Rolling Stone. Young Money Femcee, Nicki Minaj, told the magazine that while she feels haunted by the abortion that she had as a teenager, she does not regret it because she was too young for motherhood.
The Nicki Minaj abortion revelation that was made numerous years ago, is making headlines again. Minaj, who is currently promoting her third studio album, The Pinkprint, is featured in the latest issue of Rolling Stone, in which she did not speak too much about her music, and instead focused on the abortion that she had over 16 years ago.
The 32-year-old rap star revealed that she feels haunted by her unborn child. The Other Woman actress, bluntly said:
“I am haunted all my life.”
Nicki Minaj whose real name is Onika Tanya Maraj, went on to confess that she is pro-choice, and explained at the young age of 14 (some say 15-16), she did not feel like she could handle the responsibilities that come with a newborn baby. She said:
“It’d be contradictory if I said I wasn’t pro-choice.I wasn’t ready. I didn’t have anything to offer a child.”
Since 2008, Minaj has been rapping about the child she never had, but this is the first time she talked about how she felt when she learned that she was pregnant, and how difficult it was for her to abort the fetus.
Miss Minaj said she wanted to die when she discovered that she was with child for a man named Aaron. She said:
“I thought I was going to die. I was a teenager. It was the hardest thing I’d ever gone through. It’d be contradictory if I said I wasn’t pro-choice. I wasn’t ready. I didn’t have anything to offer a child.”
Aware she will be under fire for tackling such a thorny topic as abortion, Minaj gave the following preemptive statement to the publication:
“Millions of people are gonna hear it. And you gotta watch everything you say — people find an issue with every f***ing thing.”
During the exchange between the reporter and Minaj, she shared some details about the man, who impregnated her that were not known to the public.
The flamboyant diva explained that her then-boyfriend was significantly older than her and is from Queens, New York. She also said they dated while she was a student at Manhattan’s Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts.
The first time, Minaj opened up her abortion was in 2008 on a song entitled “Autobiography” that was featured on second mixtape, Sucka Free. She spit the following rhymes:
“Damn I wanna run to you/Hold you and kiss you tell you how I miss you/ Thought I would have a son for you/But now it’s officially over and I can’t let you go/But I gotta let you know all the shit I did make it feel like I’m dying real slow.”
On The Pinkprint, Minaj brought up the topic on a song called “All Things Go” while talking about her 16-year-old brother, Micaiah “Caiah” Maraj, the star revealed:
“My child with Aaron would have been 16 any minute / so in some ways I feel like Caiah is the both of them / It’s like he’s Caiah’s little angel, looking over him.”
In a recent interview with Ellen DeGneres, Minaj, who recently split from her boyfriend of 10 years, Safaree Samuels, shared that she hopes to marry and rapidly start a family.
