Mila Kunis has confessed that Ashton Kutcher is a hands-on dad. Kunis has also revealed that she is a proud gun owner. Talking to a British publication, Kunis said that Kutcher is so hands-on with baby Wyatt Isabelle that he insists on changing her whenever she does number two.
Mila Kunis‘ hands-on dad comment about Ashton Kutcher is nothing new, but is still sweet. Last week, Jupiter Ascending actress Mila Kunis sat down for a lengthy interview with the Telegraph.
Like a politician, no topics were off limits. Kunis spoke about her new husband, her baby girl, Wyatt Isabelle, the importance of owning a gun, and President Obama‘s policies regarding Ukraine. The mother of one also talked about being a proud Democrat, health care, and child labor.
According to Mila Kunis, Wyatt Isabelle’s dad and actor, Ashton Kutcher, has made it his duty to change every single poop-filled diaper. Kunis explained:
“My husband is an incredibly hands-on dad. When my child was born, I was breast-feeding and he said, “That’s your connection, I want to change every diaper.” When we’re in public, if it’s a pee-pee diaper you can change her at the table, but if it’s a poo-poo diaper you don’t want to affect the people eating. So he’s like, “Err, I guess I’m going to the ladies’ room to do it.”
The hands-on dad has launched the #BeTheChange hoping that companies will start building gender-neutral baby-changing facilities. The star also revealed that she owns a gun and that both she and Kutcher know how to handle it. Kunis, who worked extensively with gun experts for the films – Max Payne and Jupiter Ascending – shared:
“I will say this: we have a gun at the house. But would I give it to my daughter as a gift at 15? No.I can take a gun apart and put it back together blindfolded.”
She added:
“My child shouldn’t be as well trained as us, nor should she know there is a weapon in the house—ever. But I respect the gun. My husband grew up in Iowa, and is from a hunting family. He’s worked with rifles his whole life.”
She also explained that she was a supporter of Obama in 2008, and she has not turned her back on him despite the fact that she was hoping he could have done more for the country.
“I’m a Democrat. My husband is a Democrat. I’m not one of those who voted for Obama and then said, ‘He didn’t do me right so now I’m off the Obama ship’. I stand by him to this day. He’s implemented health care. It’s not perfect, but it’s beginning the process.”
The Black Swan actress also shared her thoughts on child labor by explaining that she became a spokesperson for Gemfields, the top producer of ethically-sourced rare colored gemstones, because they refuse to employ children in their mines. Kunis, who recently visited Gemfields’ mines in Zambia, said:
“I went there thinking, ‘Well, they are only as transparent as they want you to see they are.’ So I talked to all the employees. They give their workers contracts; in Zambia that was unheard of.”
In the same interview, she opened up about being a 7-year-old Jewish-Russian in America, who did not speak a word of English. Kunis talked about the bullying, the fact she does not care about her acting career, and why she will tell her daughter to avoid posting nude pictures of herself on the Internet. She also stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin is a scary man.
