The Megyn Kelly Donald Trump feud is back in the news in a big way. The presidential candidate has decided to launch new attacks directed at the cable news anchor over her supposed anti-Trump bias.
Donald Trump and Megyn Kelly are grabbing headlines today because the business mogul turned politician does not like the way the news anchor covers his campaign on her highly-rated Fox News show The Kelly File.
This week, the front-runner of the Republican nomination race for president went after Kelly on social media. Mr. Trump, who is 69 years old, asked his numerous followers on Twitter to boycott Kelly’s program. He posted the following tweets on Thursday and Friday:
Highly overrated & crazy @megynkelly is always complaining about Trump and yet she devotes her shows to me. Focus on others Megyn!

Everybody should boycott the @megynkelly show. Never worth watching. Always a hit on Trump! She is sick, & the most overrated person on tv.

The Megyn Kelly Donald Trump feud started in August 2015 at a presidential debate sponsored by the right-leaning news network. Kelly, 45, asked Trump about disparaging comments he had made about women in the past. The reality TV star and politician called the move inappropriate. The incident was followed by months of unfair attacks, which culminated in Trump skipping a debate right before the Iowa caucuses in February. Trump lost Iowa to Texas Senator Ted Cruz, something that was linked to his decision not to attend the debate moderated by Kelly.
In early March, the frenemies were able to be cordial for one debate, and a new one was even scheduled for next week. This slugfest was canceled few days ago after Mr. Trump decided to pull out. After the cancelation, he decided to re-ignite the feud. Fox News came out with a strong statement to defend their anchor, slamming Trump for being obsessed with Kelly. It read:
“Donald Trump’s vitriolic attacks against Megyn Kelly and his extreme, sick obsession with her is beneath the dignity of a presidential candidate who wants to occupy the highest office in the land. Megyn is an exemplary journalist and one of the leading anchors in America — we’re extremely proud of her phenomenal work and continue to fully support her throughout every day of Trump’s endless barrage of crude and sexist verbal assaults,” the statement continued. “As the mother of three young children, with a successful law career and the second highest rated show in cable news, it’s especially deplorable for her to be repeatedly abused just for doing her job.”
The Trump campaign responded with its own statement on Friday night, it said:
“Unlike Megyn Kelly, who resorts to putting out statements via Fox News, Mr. Trump will continue to defend himself against the inordinate amount of unfair and inaccurate coverage he receives on her second-rate show each night.”
Mr. Trump’s behavior has created a wedge between Kelly and some of her colleagues at Fox News like Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity, who are much more supportive of Mr. Trump’s candidacy and have failed to defend her publicly.
It’s obvious- he has the hots for her and she keeps turning him down
I have totally lost respect for both Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly….cannot believe what they have become and it IS distressing. Mr. Hannity even spoke at my son’s graduation at Liberty U. I no longer recognize him. It appears that money or some form of pay-off might be behind all of this and that is terribly sad as I was counting on Mr. Hannity to be a true role model for my son when there are so few left. Basically, Mr. Trump lies about good people much of the time..he is definitely NOT a leader
