McDonald’s Free Coffee Event is a marketing scheme. McDonald’s has announced that its Free Coffee Event will begin tomorrow and end on September 29th. McDonald’s launched the promotional event after sales plummeted 3.7% in August.
McDonald’s Free Coffee Event is back. This time around the promotional event will run from 9/16 – 9/29!
For two weeks, participating McDonald’s restaurants across the country will give one free small McCafé coffee per customer during breakfast hours, meaning between 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
During the giveaway, customers can use the hashtag #SipandTell where they can share their funny and embarrassing pre-morning coffee routine.
The two-week promotion is McDonald’s second national Free Coffee Event this year. The fast food giant had an identical event in late March.
The McDonald’s Corporation is hoping to capitalize on parents who are driving their kids to school and students heading back to college this fall.
The world’s largest chain of hamburger fast food restaurants, said in a statement:
“We know our guests are busy, especially during the morning, and a free cup of coffee goes a long way in helping get their days started.”
Greg Watson, senior vice president, McDonald’s US Menu Innovation added:
“That’s why we want to treat customers once again so they can taste for themselves just how great their mornings can be with a cup of McCafé coffee and freshly made breakfast.”
McDonald’s Free Coffee Event was created with two goals in mind.
The first one is to incite customers to buy breakfast when they go get their free cup of coffee.
The second, have them coming back every day for breakfast, maybe lunch, and while we are at it, why not dinner.
McDonald’s is also hoping that its Free Coffee Event will boost its sales numbers.
In August, the California based company sales fell 3.7%, the largest monthly dip in a decade.
The brand has been having a hard time captivating millennials, who prefer Taco Bell and Subway.
After the Free Coffee Event McDonald’s should try the Free Burger or Salad Event.
