Dancing with the Stars host Leah Remini is not a fan of clowns and someone should have told that to Sasha Farber. Farber dressed as an evil clown, sneaked up behind Remini and scared her to the point she fell on the floor as she was interviewing two dancers.
Leah Remini‘s Dancing with the Stars fall has gone viral, and she is not even dancing this year. So, how do you take a tumble on Dancing with the Stars when you are not a dancer? Just bring an evil clown into the mix.
On Monday, the author of the new controversial book, Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology Leah Remini started her gig as a replacement for co-host Erin Andrews.
This the third time Remini is appearing on DWTS, she was a contestant in 2013 with Tony Dovolani and served as a guest co-host the following year. As for Andrews, she is also a Fox sideline reporter, and she is taking a leave of absence from the reality series to cover The World Series.
Remini’s first day on the job was very memorable, as she was interviewing Tamar Braxton and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy to have their thoughts on their performance during the Halloween episode – something shocking happened. As the Blossom actress was talking, DWTS pro dancer and prankster Sasha Farber wearing an evil clown mask sneaked behind Jennifer Lopez‘s best friend and scared her.
Remini, who is coulrophobia, (a particular fear of clowns), dropped to the floor while yelling “Damn you!” at Farber. Chmerkovskiy, who was a real gentleman, helped Remini back up to conclude the interview. Remini later apologized to Braxton and Chmerkovskiy for her reaction by saying:
“You know, I’m not good with people scaring me.”
Host Tom Bergeron had the clip of Remini hitting the floor played several times because he believed she cursed on live television. After the show, Farber revealed that he was sorry for what he did to Remini. He confessed:
“I feel a little bit bad because I didn’t realize I would scare her that bad. She literally fell on the ground and screamed so I think I did all right. I did apologize to her.”
Farber, who has been scaring dancers the entire week as they were rehearsing, claimed that it was the producers’ idea for him to scare Remini. He added:
“It was nerve-wracking because you never know what can happen on live TV. She could have punched me. That would not have gone down so good. I apologized to her and we had a laugh.Everyone is laughing and loving what happened. I love Halloween, that’s the best part about it because I live my life having fun and Halloween was just another way of showing and expressing the way I have fun.”
He went on to praise the Cheers and The King of Queens star for being a great co-host by stating:
“It’s a lot of pressure, big shoes to fill, and I think she’s doing an amazing job. I would love to have more of her. Live TV is always a lot more pressure than any other show and that’s what keeps it exciting and keeps all of us on our toes.”
Leah Remini is also in the news for her upcoming book in which she slams Tom Cruise and Scientology.
