Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc. will open its 1,000th shop in Kansas and to mark the huge event, the company is having a giveaway in all of its other locations. The first 1000 customers will be getting one free Krispy Kreme original glazed doughnut, no purchase necessary. But for those in Kansas, the giveaway is way sweeter because Krispy Kreme will be giving away Krispy Kreme donuts for an entire year.
A Krispy Kreme giveaway will last one entire year in the state of Kansas, but for the rest of the world, Krispy Kreme Free Doughnuts Day is only for today. Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc. is happy to announce that it is opening its 1,000th doughnut shop in Kansas City, Kansas.
The doughnut company and coffeehouse chain based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina has decided to celebrate the impressive milestone with a giveaway. In a statement, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc said:
“We are celebrating the opening of our 1,000th doughnut shop with a festive grand opening event and in-shop celebrations around the world.”
The eatery will give a free Original Glazed doughnut to the first 1000 clients in line in participating 1,000 Krispy Kreme® locations around the world. No purchase necessary. But Kansans get a better deal, the first 100 customers received one free dozen of donuts per week, for an entire year.
What a sweet deal for Chocolate Iced Custard Filled, Chocolate Iced Glazed and Cinnamon Bun lovers. The restaurant shared more details about the giveaway:
“Grand opening activities at the new Kansas City shop will start at 6am on February 24, 2015 with one dozen free Original Glazed doughnuts for a year for the first 100 guests in line.”
Vernon Rudolph, 18 at the time, bought a yeast-raised recipe from a New Orleans chef in 1937 and founded The Krispy Kreme Doughnut Company and 78 years later, there are stores all over the United States, Australia, Canada, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Philippines, Russia, Taiwan, Thailand, and the United Kingdom.
In a press release, the company, which also sells bagels, oatmeal and drinks added:
“We are going to mark this significant milestone with the opening of our newest shop in Kansas City, KS on February 24, 2015. Additionally, we will commemorate the occasion by giving away a free Original Glazed® doughnut at each of the US, Canadian, and participating 1,000 Krispy Kreme® locations around the world. No purchase necessary.
