Kim Kardashian and Katie Couric seem cool again, the war is over. All good celebrity feud must come to an end at some point and it seems that Kim Kardashian and her “fake media friend” Katie Couric have decided to bury the hatchet after almost one year of public silence.
It started in August of 2013 when Couric decided to share her feelings about the Kardashians in an interview with a reporter for In Touch. The famous journalist told the publication back then:
“I don’t understand – why are they so famous? I think it’s mostly teenage girls that are interested.”
For obvious reasons the comments did not sit well with Kanye West’s beautiful wife. The usually stoic Kim took to social media to hit back at what felt like a huge betrayal. She wrote:
“#IHateFakeMediaFriends #MayIHumblySuggestYouNotSendGiftsThenTalkSh*t”
Mrs West was referencing the fact that Couric had sent a gift after the birth of her baby girl North West wishing her family well.
Katie Couric who knows well the value of a Kardashian interview quickly moved to squash any tension by apologizing few weeks later for the offending remarks. While talking with E! News, she went out of her way to clear the air saying:
“I’ve met Kim before and I think she’s a really sweet person. I was responding to a reporter’s question, and explaining how I’m intrigued by the public’s fascination with her family. I didn’t mean to hurt her feelings. The gift is genuine, and I’m happy for Kim and Kanye.”
Kim Kardashian never acknowledged the apology until this week when the two women were photographed together having fun at a party in the Hamptons over the 4th of July weekend. The picture was posted on Kim’s mother Kris Jenner Instagram’s page under the caption:
“Great night @kimkardashian @shellibird1@christiebrinkley @katiecouric ! #hamptonslife.”
Although Christie Brinkley was standing in the middle, we think it is safe to say that by appearing in the same photo is a sign of public truce for the two ladies.
Kim Kardashian is currently in the Hamptons filming a new reality TV spinoff for E! titled “Kourtney & Khloe Take the Hamptons.”
