Is Kim Kardashian trying to adopt? That’s not exactly what is happening. On the latest episode of the reality show “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” that aired on E! Sunday, Kim talked about adopting a young girl from Thailand, that she met at an orphanage. Her family was quick to discourage her from doing such move.
Kim Kardashian talks about adopting a Thai child on her reality series and the world is wondering if she was serious. The Kardashian family went to Thailand, few months ago to shoot new episodes for their show. As it is often the case when celebrities visit places that are less fortunate, the clan decided to bring supplies to a local orphanage.
While at the orphanage, Kim met a 12-year-old girl named Pink, who managed to really impress her. She felt an intense connection with the child, to the point that she wanted to adopt her. Kanye West wife’s shared her feelings with her family in the episode, she told them:
“I literally cannot stop thinking about her. I told Kanye, I was like, ‘Honestly, this girl is so sweet and so cute. … I would totally adopt her.”
Kim’s mother Kris Jenner who is also her manager, was not really excited by what she had just heard. Jenner rushed in to tell her daughter that adopting a child, is not like going shopping at her favorite store. Jenner said:
“That’s a little aggressive. I think that you can’t just go to an orphanage and fall in love with a child and then take them home like you’re shopping. You get very passionate about things and then you don’t think the whole thing through. I bet there are other things that you could do that would make all the difference in this little girl’s life.”
Some viewers believe that the whole adoption angle was staged in another brilliant Kardashian PR scheme and there was no sincerity to it whatsoever.
The adoption plot had an interesting ending, with the hotel manager telling Kris and Kim, adopting Pink was not possible and that they should find other ways to help the children. TheSpreadit did a little research, found the manager was right, adoption in Thailand is mostly possible for children under 8.
The 33-year-old reality star left Thailand, went back to her little family and the adoption talks never resurfaced.
