Kesha is that really you? Pop singer Kesha is almost unrecognizable on the latest cover of Teen Vogue. Kesha ditched her crazy makeup and wild wig for a more simple look for the magazine. Inside she talked about her career, her rehab stint and suffering from bulimia nervosa.
Kesha should continue to work with stylist Patrick Mackie – just saying.
Kesha unrecognizable on Teen Vogue cover
“Crazy Kids” artist Kesha is the cover girl for the August issue of Teen Vogue and she looks amazing.
Kesha who is famous for wearing rainbow hair, neon lipstick, animal inspired makeup and diamonds on her teeth looked very rocker chick on the cover thanks to stylist Patrick Mackie.
Mackie dressed the wild child in a blue jean shirt that brought out her stunning eyes with black pants.
To complete the look the “Only Wanna Dance with You” artist sported a scarf-bow and an array of silver bracelets.
The stylist kept the makeup simple, using pink lip gloss, smokey eyes and little foundation which made her freckles visible.
As for the photo spread, the star wore several outfits that can be dubbed “fancy rocker.”
Kesha on changing her look
So why did she agree to change her look so drastically for the mag, Kesha Rose Sebert explained:
“The insanity is not gone forever; it’s still there. I’ve only decided to wipe off all the face paint and try to wear beautiful dresses instead of completely insane things.”
Kesha on her eating disorder
The conversation was not all about fashion, the California entertainer opened up about her decision to enter the Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center in Illinois for eating disorder treatment in January. She bluntly said:
“Let’s just get the elephant out of the room.”My eating disorder is something I’ve been struggling with for a while. People will make up stories, but I went to rehab for an eating disorder—nothing more and nothing less.Making my last record, Warrior, was a pretty miserable process, and it wore my spirit down. I was fighting like hell to keep my whole irreverent essence and everything raw and visceral that I stand for in it, but in the end I was promoting something that wasn’t the animal I wanted it to be. I decided to face my problem head-on.”
Kesha is currently of the judge panel of ABC’s singing competition “Rising Star” along with country singer Brad Paisley and rapper Ludacris.
She is also working on her third studio album.
