Kelly Ripa penthouse sold for $20 million instead of $24.5 million. The 6,792-square-foot Soho penthouse belonging to Kelly Ripa and husband Mark Consuelos has been sold to real estate mogul Alex Adjmi for the price of $20 million.
Kelly Ripa sells Soho penthouse to Alex Adjmi for the price of $20 million, a small drop from the $24.5 million asking price – it is still a buyer’s market. Ripa and husband Mark Consuelos purchased the penthouse in 2005 for $9.5 million. That’s close to $10 million in profit.
The stunning 6,792-square-foot penthouse is located at 76 Crosby St between Spring and Prince Sts., SOHO, New York. Consuelos and Ripa lived in the home with their three children until January of 2013, when they decided to list it for $24.5 million.
The couple spent more than two years renovating the Manhattan home hoping to attract a buyer. And few months ago, after some tough negations, Kelly Ripa’s two-story penthouse was purchased by Adjmi who was represented by brokers Vanessa Tawil and Lorette Zoitos of the Corcoran Group.
Mr Adjmi, a real estate mogul and president of A&H Acquisitions has properties all over New York.
The developer recently teamed up with his longtime partner Bobby Cayre to purchase the Hub, in South Bronx’s main shopping district for $23.2 million.
Adjmi has served several years in prison for laundering Colombian drug cartel money and for taking part in a $50 million bank fraud scheme.
Mr Adjmi plans to use Ripa’s penthouse as investment property, according to Examiner.
Ripa and Consuelos’s former penthouse has 5 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms.The property, which has key-lock elevator access is equipped with 2 kitchens that are furnished with Electrolux appliances, a brand that Ripa represents.
The second floor has a home gym and a small office and of course a large walk-in closet where Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa stored all of their big name brands.
Additionally, there is a breathtaking round roof terrace with faux grass, a Zen garden, outdoor fireplace, an outdoor shower and a hot tub.
Now that Kelly Ripa has sold her Soho penthouse, she will move with her family to her $2.35 million Hamptons home.
The host of Live! with Kelly and Michael and her husband of 18 years have a combined net worth of $85 million.
