On Tuesday, Kelly Ripa, 44, had her husband, Mark Consuelos, as guest host on Live! with Kelly and Michael and the pair took part in First Lady Michelle Obama’s #GimmeFive challenge. Mark Consuelos fulfilled the challenge in a unique way – he bench-pressed Kelly Ripa.
Kelly Ripa‘s guest host Mark Consuelos bench-pressed her on live television – but it was all for a good cause. On Tuesday’s episode of Live! with Kelly and Michael, with Michael Strahan absent, Mark Consuelos, who is the husband of Kelly Ripa, took the role of guest host.
Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa talked about their past fashion faux pas and revealed that Mark Consuelos received a very special gift for his 44th birthday on March 30th. Ripa, who wed Consuelos almost 19 years ago, got him an engraved plaque on a Central Park bench. The plaque reads:
“Daddy Cool, est. March 30, 1971.”
Mark Consuelos explained:
“[It reads] “Daddy Cool, est. March 30, 1971.” That’s what she calls me. It’s so nice. That’s the best gift I’ve ever received. By far, you’re the most thoughtful, the best gift giver all the time!”
The pair interviewed several guests including Chrissy Teigen and Timothy Hutton. Like many other celebrities, Kelly Ripa and her guest host Mark Consuelos accepted First Lady Michelle Obama’s #GimmeFive challenge.
For the fifth anniversary of Let’s Move!, Obama is encouraging Americans to give out high-fives when they see someone making healthy choices, but most stars have uploaded videos of themselves doing five sit-ups or five push-ups.
Mark Consuelos fulfilled Mrs Obama’s challenge by bench-pressing his wife, Kelly Ripa. As the Spanish actor lifted his petite wife, the crowd cheered on. Ripa shared a brief clip of her husband’s prowess on Instagram with the caption:

Earlier this week, Kelly Ripa had another guest host with the first name Mark as in Mark Cuban, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks and star of ABC’s Shark Tank. Mark Cuban’s appearance was less entertaining than Mark Consuelos’.
