Keira Knightley’s husband earned about £5k ($7,638.75) in 2014 while she made over £4.1 million ($6,263,775). Knightley’s husband, James Righton’s income, took a major hit after his band Klaxon failed to release successful music.
Keira Knightley‘s husband made about £5k ($7,638.75) last year. In a new report published in The Sun, it was revealed that 2014 was not a great financial year for musician James Righton.
Knightley’s husband, who was the co-vocalist and keyboardist for the London-based new rave band Klaxons, made only £14,844 ($22,677.92). Righton’s company, Galloping Faster, which pays Klaxon bandmates – Jamie Reynolds and Simon Taylor-Davis – was forced to take a loan of £51,241 ($78,283.44).
Buried in debt and unable to release chart-topping hits or land well-paying gigs, the group disbanded. While Righton brought in £5k, Knightley’s company, Kck Boo, made £4.1 million, but she only paid herself £30,000 ($45,832.5).
2015 has been the best year so far for the pair since they have welcomed a baby girl in May. Knightley and Righton have always proved that their relationship was based on love, not money.
In May 2013, when they were married in Mazan, Vaucluse in the south of France, Righton wore a suit he previously owned and Knightley opted for her favorite Chanel tulle dress.
She explained that they were only 11 guests at the ceremony and called it the perfect day of her life. She confessed:
“It was the greatest day ever, it was fantastic. We’re still high from it. It was about two weeks ago, it was a big party.I just fell in love with someone who happens to be amazing. We had a beautiful wedding and there was a lot of love.”
Keira Knightley recently revealed that she is very frugal. She told Glamor magazine:
“I think living an (expensive) lifestyle means you can’t hang out with people who don’t live that lifestyle. It alienates you. Some of my best most hilarious times have been in the least luxurious places. I mean, if I want or need something that goes over that (her yearly allowance), I get it.”
