CNN political commentator Kayleigh McEnany is in big trouble for going after the reigning queen of pop music. The conservative pundit decided to attack Beyoncé out of nowhere.
The 28-year-old Florida native was in the middle of a discussion about the list of artists who will be performing at Donald Trump‘s inauguration on Friday when she put two very famous female artists on blast. McEnany said that Toby Keith is in a different league when compared to the “Drunk in Love” singer, Katy Perry, and all of the other performers at the two inaugurations for President Barack Obama.
The Harvard Law School graduate shared: “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it’s all what you see. Because when I heard Toby Keith, I was like, ‘Way better than Beyoncé, Katy Perry, and all the other Obama performers.’ Toby Keith is A-list for me and all the other deplorables out there.”
The comments drew intense reactions from two of her colleagues – Marc Lamont Hill and Symone D. Sanders. The former Bernie Sanders aide could not stop laughing, and the Morehouse professor made a face that went viral.
Fans of Jay Z‘s wife are known as the BeyHive, and they do not like when critics slam her. They took to social media to defend their favorite performer. The dynamic online community was not enough to get the right-leaning writer to back down. McEnany push out the following tweet:
Toby Keith is a legend! A country music hero with meaningful lyrics, unlike "all the single ladies!" @marclamonthill you know it's true! 😝 https://t.co/KrrO7I6mYM

In the age of Trump, controversy is good for business, and this is something that the cable news pundit has learned to master in the past few months. Her profile rose to an all-time high by embracing and defending extreme political positions, so angry Beyoncé stans are not going to scare her.
