Kate Beckinsale The Disappointments Room thriller is expected to begin shooting on September 8 in Greensboro, North Carolina. After recruiting Mel Raido last week, the D.J. Caruso-directed flick has hired X-Men: Days of Future Past actor Lucas Till.
Kate Beckinsale The Disappointments Room movie cast is starting to look really strong. Nine days ago, British actor Mel Raido was announced as part of the casting. Raido who is 37, is known for his work on 2008’s The Informers, starring Billy Bob Thornton, Kim Basinger, Amber Heard, Winona Ryder and Mickey Rourke. Raido is set to play Beckinsale’s husband in the film that was inspired by true events.
It was revealed few days ago that Paranoia actor Lucas Till would also be part of The Disappointments Room project. Till, 24, will portray a mysterious carpenter who has to deal with Beckinsale’s character Dana’s family. So, what is Kate Beckinsale The Disappointments Room about?
Dana (Beckinsale), her husband David (Raido) and their son who is 5 are trying to put their past behind and start a new life in a rural town. The family finds a dream home that has a secret room in the attic. After finding the key to the hidden place, Dana will uncover the house’s horrible past that is surprisingly linked to her own.
Wentworth Miller who made a name for himself as an actor on Prison Break wrote the original script that was eventually rewritten by director D.J. Caruso. Caruso previously worked on Disturbia and I Am Number Four. Miller is slowly building his portfolio in Hollywood as a talented screenwriter, he wrote the chilling psychological thriller Stoker, starring Mia Wasikowska and Nicole Kidman that was released in 2013.
The Disappointments Room is expected to premiere in late 2015 or early 2016. Kate Beckinsale can be seen next in the Brad Anderson-directed thriller Stonehearst Asylum that will debut in October.
