Kanye West keeps taking things to an unexpected place. The man, who has legally changed his name to Ye, was pictured wearing a prosthetic Caucasian mask.
This is totally in line with what the rapper has been wearing lately. The “Gold Digger” rapper has even encouraged estranged wife Kim Kardashian to adopt the same mysterious style.
Kanye West dons mask to meet Michael Cohen
The controversial rapper wore a black baseball cap and grey headphones. He was in New York to meet former ally of President Donald Trump, Michael Cohen .
PR expert Ronn Torossian and Isareli judo sensation Or Sassoon were also present. Eric Adams, the future mayor of New York city, was expected to join the meeting.
Cohen told Page Six: “The purpose [of the mask] was so that people would not recognize him … the first 10 minutes we sat down, he was mobbed by people … who wanted photos and to say hello. So he put on this mask to give him some anonymity, which interestingly enough, did not really work.”
Torossian also revealed: “Kanye was very calm and relaxed with no security. He was wearing the mask most of the time and said he was wearing it so he could walk around freely. There was no security; he was just wandering the streets with the mask. He was a pleasant guy. He and Michael Cohen were talking about real estate.'”
Kim Kardashian gives Kanye West cash for property
The billionaire is dealing with a lot of changes in his life at the moment. Kardashian filed for divorce in February, and the two exes are now in a good place for the sake of their four children.
West received close to $23 million in cash to give up rights to the property and the furniture he once shared with his family. Kardashian paid to keep everything intact for her family.
Kanye West not getting back with Kim Kardashian
The former couple is still working together, but contrary to rumors, reconciliation is not in the cards for now.
An insider told PEOPLE: “They have come a long way since Kim filed for divorce. It’s taken them months to get to this point. Kim is happy that they get along and that things are amicable. The kids will always be her number one priority. She wants to have a friendly relationship with Kanye because it benefits the kids.”
