Kaley Cuoco who became a huge TV star thanks to portraying the lovely Penny on CBS’ hit comedy “The Big Bang Theory” is ready to take on a bigger challenge as an actress. Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting has signed on to play a character named Katy in the upcoming drama Burning Bodhi that will be released in 2015.
Matthew McDuffie who recently received praises for his work on The Face of Love will write and direct the project. Burning Bodhi tells the story of a young man who finds out on Facebook that his best friend passed away, so he decides to go back and face some of his old demons. The indie film started shooting in Albuquerque, New Mexico in June.
“Hemlock Grove” actor Landon Liboiron, End of Watch actress Cody Horn and Sideways actress Virginia Madsen are all part of the Burning Bodhi cast. Kaley Cuoco who is very proud to take part in this project shared few photos from the set on social media.
Cuoco said that she is ready to give this role her best and she is not going to hold back. The Authors Anonymous actress find that bringing to life someone so different from her natural self is very exciting. She made sure to remind her fans that the movie is “definitely not a comedy.” Burning Bodhi is not the only film that the “Charmed” star has lined up for 2015.
Fans of Kaley Cuoco will be able to see her in Kevin Hart’s next big comedy The Wedding Ringer that is set to premiere on January 16, 2015. “The Big Bang Theory” will start its eight season in September. Although the main actors are still negotiating their contacts, a deal is expected to be reached before the end of July.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Regina King will be returning to the comedy show as Janine Davis (Human Resources Lady).
