In June of 2013, Foster listed the stunning Spanish-style home for $6.399 million. But no one showed interest in the house that was built in 1935.
In September, the critically-acclaimed movie star made the decision to reduce the price of the California mansion to $5.995 million, but this also failed.
The Home for the Holidays and Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore actress removed the five bedrooms and six bathrooms mansion from the market.
Mrs Foster renovated the house and relisted it this year with a new agency. The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane star entrusted her newly renovated home to Kurt Rappaport of Westside Estate Agency who found a buyer this month.
The purchasers of Jodie Foster’s house who were represented by Conrad Hitchcock of Hilton & Hyland are said to be in love with the home, which is embedded in the Hollywood Hills.
According to Mr Hitchcock, the buyers have little renovation to do because, “Jodie Foster has taken immaculate care of the home.”
Foster bought the home in 1995 from model and actress Cheryl Tiegs, but moved out several years ago.
The property features a large pool, courtyard, a formal dining room, an office and a screening room.
The master suite comes with a sitting area, walk-in closets, fireplace and a sauna.
It is reported that Foster married Alexandra Hedison in April of 2014 and they are currently living in a $11.75 million-five-bedroom home in Beverly Hills that the actress purchased in June 2012.
Jodie Foster’s house was not easy to unload, proving that the market is difficult even for big celebrities.
