Jennifer Nettles, Idina Menzel performed the hit song “Let It Go” on ABC’s CMA Country Christmas Monday night. The duet was a moment to remember and fans of the movie Frozen enjoyed the rendition.
Jennifer Nettles and Idina Menzel got together earlier this week and offered music fans in this country a sweet Christmas gift in advance.
Nettles and Menzel shared an amazing duet on the stage of the annual CMA Country Christmas. Although the show aired on Monday, it was initially filmed on November 7 at the Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena right after the 2014 CMA Awards.
The proximity between the two events made it possible for Country stars like Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, LeAnn Rimes and Steven Tyler to appear.
The 2014 CMA Country Christmas program was a big success in terms of ratings. The show was watched by close to nine million people, which corresponds to an increase of about ten percent in viewership compared to 2013’s special.
The Jennifer Nettles Idina Menzel duet on “Let It Go” was one of the highlights of this year’s celebration. Nettles of Sugarland fame was also the host of this special that signals the beginning of the holiday primetime lineup for ABC.
Nettles, 40, who released her first solo album That Girl in January, has a long history of making crossover duets that tend to go viral.
In June, at the CMT Music Awards, she joined R&B crooner John Legend and Hunter Hayes for an epic rendition of Legend’s megahit “All of Me.”
In 2007, at the American Music Awards with her Sugarland partner, Kristian Bush, Nettles covered Beyoncé Knowles’ “Irreplaceable.” Jay Z’s wife was very happy to join the duo for a very powerful musical moment.
The Jennifer Nettles Idina Menzel collaboration started with a little bit of “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?,” from the “Me Without You” singer before the Frozen actress took control of things.
It was an epic moment of television that was hard to resist, although some say that they are getting tired of hearing this song. Nettles proved that she could totally hold her own next to the really impressive Menzel, who is a first class vocalist.
