Is Jennifer Lopez dating Maksim Chmerkovskiy? J.Lo really has a soft spot for professional dancers. Just days after confirming her split from her former back up dancer Casper Smart, it is being reported that she is now dating Dancing with the Stars pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
It appears that the recent friendship between Jennifer Lopez and Maksim Chmerkovskiy has blossomed into something more.
A close source to the mother-of-two spoke to People Magazine saying that Lopez was introduced to Chmerkovskiy by her best friend Leah Remini who was a contestant of Dancing with the Stars.
The pair became close pals which is why he was chosen by the American Idol judge to dance with her during the amazing tribute to Celia Cruz during the American Music Awards last November
The insider revealed that the singer and professional dancer who recently split from 22-year-old Sports Illustrated model Kate Upton often talked on the telephone but decided to take things slow mainly because of their hectic work schedules.
But Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Jennifer Lopez found time to party together.
The duo was spotted back in May getting very cozy while attending Maksim’s brother Val birthday party at the Redbury Hotel in L.A.
An anonymous source from the soiree told the publication:
“At one point, he put his arm around her waist and they seemed to be locked in a very passionate conversation.”
Expect the new lovers to hit red carpets very soon after completing their work engagements – Lopez is busy promoting her new album entitled “A.K.A.” which is out June 17 while Chmerkovskiy has joined the judging panel on “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa,” which is India’s version of “DWTS.”
Lopez, 44, and Chmerkovskiy, 34, started dating about two months ago, around the same time she put an end to her almost three-year-old romance with Casper Smart.
Rumors claimed that Lopez left Smart after it was revealed that he was having affairs with two transgenders he met on Instagram.
