Jennifer Aniston went without makeup for her role in Cake. The experience was liberating and a dream come true. During an interview at Deadline’s The Contenders, Aniston surprised the audience by revealing that she was happy to finally land a role where she had to go makeup-free.
Jennifer Aniston‘s makeup, Cake role, Oscar buzz and California’s film industry, all got discussed in a new interview of the movie star. Some of Aniston’s remarks were very interesting.
On Saturday, Aniston took part in Deadline’s The Contenders on stage discussion, which was held at the DGA Theater in Los Angeles, California. The actress took the stage in a simple black top, jeans and boots.
Her signature blonde locks cascaded on her shoulders and she kept her makeup very light. During the chitchat, the star said that she was thrilled to have a role where she did not have to sit in a chair for hours and have hair and makeup done, according to Examiner. Aniston shared:
“It’s our little love project. When I read the script, I was ready to disappear.”
She went on to add:
“So fabulous, and so dreamy and empowering and liberating. The only time I had to sit in the makeup chair was just for scars.”
Jennifer Aniston also explained why she was determined to have Cake filmed in California:
“This is our industry, we should be able to make our movies here.”
Cake, which also stars Anna Kendrick, Sam Worthington, and Adriana Barraza will be released in 2015.
The flick focuses on a woman named Claire played by Aniston who becomes fascinated by the suicide of a woman in her chronic pain support group. In Cake not only does Jennifer Aniston go makeup-free, she also sports a scar and it appears that the role might land her at least and Oscar nomination.
According to Deadline:
“This should be Aniston’s Monster or Monster’s Ball — or even Dallas Buyers Club, which transformed Matthew McConaughey’s career last year and brought him the Best Actor Oscar. There are really no tricks to this performance. It’s raw and real, poignant and unexpected.”
