Jada Pinkett Smith: Willow pic was not dirty. In a new interview, Pinkett Smith has decided to talk about the controversial pic of Willow Smith, 13, lying in bed next to Moisés Arias, 20, by saying people should not pollute something that is innocent. Pinkett Smith also revealed that she does not try to fix everything, because she wants her children to be themselves and be happy.
In a new lengthy interview with Net-a-Porter Jada Pinkett Smith, spoke about the black and white picture that surfaced in May of her 13-year-old daughter Willow Smith fully clothed, lying on a bed next to 20-year-old actor Moisés Arias.
The pic which was posted by Arias on Instagram, went viral and social media networking sites were lit with comments like where are her parents and the man is a pervert.
Arias rapidly deleted the controversial pic and a source close to Will and Jada spoke to the media saying that Moisés is a close friend of Jaden Smith and Willow is smart enough to make her own decisions.
The source went on to add that Jada believes that her daughter was expressing art in the photo.
The comments did not sit well with many, who now view the Smiths as liberal or hippy parents, who let their children cross all kinds of boundaries and then call it art.
The 42-year-old actress sat down with the magazine earlier this month, where she revealed that there was nothing dirty about Willow’s picture and she hopes that people will stop polluting it and went on to add few feminist inspired lines.
The A Low Down Dirty Shame actress explained that while women today do have more opportunities to be successful, there is a cost:
“Just don’t pollute something that’s not dirty. It’s really tough. I feel like the connection to the value of women on a bigger scale has decreased tremendously. Even though you look and go, ‘Women have so many opportunities,’ it’s like, ‘Yeah, but at what cost?’
The If These Walls Could Talk star further shared that a woman is more valuable to our society, when she can be as unattached, tough and bold as a man:
“Are women valued for being women, or are women valued when they have more masculine qualities? Men and women encompass both female and masculine energies, but it seems like when the feminine is present, it’s not respected.”
Mrs Will Smith told the publication, she has come to the conclusion that she can not fix all her children’s mistakes and has therefore decided to let them be who they want to be.
Smith who is promoting her show “Gotham” that will premiere on FOX September 22nd, also revealed that sometimes as a parent you have to let your child go, they will not necessarily make the same errors that you made when you were young – your kids are not you.
Few weeks ago, a paparazzo caught up with Jada Pinkett Smith and asked her about Willow’s infamous pic and she stated there was nothing sexual about it.
