According to reports, Ivan Moody is getting a divorce from his wife, Holly Smith. It is being reported that Smith filed for divorce from the Five Finger Death Punch singer after she caught him cheating, and he assaulted her. These claims are being disputed by guitarist Zoltan Bathory.
Ask Ivan Moody about his divorce and he will tell you the opposite of what his estranged wife, Holly Smith, has to say.
Earlier this week, news broke that Five Finger Death Punch’s lead singer Ivan Moody was divorcing Holly Smith because of a fight.
Mrs. Smith, who filed the divorce papers, claimed that Moody assaulted her. In documents obtained by TMZ, Smith revealed that she recently confronted her estranged husband in a Las Vegas hotel room with a series of text messages and pictures that proved he was cheating with other women.
The confrontation ended in a terrible and bloody way, according to Smith. As she slept that night, an angry and violent Moody apparently attacked her using martial-arts maneuvers.
The Devil’s Carnival actor supposedly put Smith in a Jiu-Jitsu submission hold and choked her multiple times. According to Smith, she was repeatedly punched by her estranged spouse, who also tried to strangle her with a blanket.
Las Vegas police were called to the hotel, and Moody was arrested, but for some strange reason the charges were later dropped. According to his bio, in 2012, he battled alcohol addiction, and it almost destroyed his career and life:
Other members of Five Finger Death Punch wouldn’t answer his phone calls and they had lost many tour managers, all harming the band and themselves. Ivan had even performed while drunk; he claimed he would perform in front of large crowds and not remember any of it the next day. He started to cut down on the alcohol and drink with more responsibility, before stopping completely. Ivan says that he “felt like a junkie and from that extreme, it takes a lot of effort to go back.”
The soon-to-be ex-wife is asking a judge for financial support, claiming that Moody earns around $66,000 a month with his band. Five Finger Death Punch is set to drop its sixth studio album, entitled Got Your Six on September 4.
Meanwhile, Five Finger Death Punch’s guitarist Zoltan Bathory is slamming the Ivan Moody divorce report:
😂 don't know which 1 is more offensive insinuating that Ivan knows JiuJitsu or that he has a wife! none of those R true GottaLoveTheInternet
