Gunnery Sgt. Chris Taylor’s amazing homecoming surprise will leave you in tears. The wife of Gunnery Sgt. Chris Taylor shared a video of her, surprising him after he returned from Afghanistan. The clip of the emotional reunion has gone viral.
Gunnery Sgt. Chris Taylor broke down and cried when he discovered that his wife traveled over 2300 miles to make sure that someone welcomed him home after spending one year in Afghanistan, according to the Inquisitr.
Earlier this month, after being stationed in Afghanistan, Sgt. Chris Taylor and several other Marines returned to the United States. When Taylor arrived in California, he did not expect to see his family members who live in Maryland.
But his wife had other plans. Mrs Taylor shared a 4-minute video on YouTube that chronicled the moving reunion. In the clip, Gunnery Sgt. Chris Taylor can be seen landing in California, talking and hugging many of his fellow Marines until he sees his wife.
The Marine started to cry and gave his spouse a long hug. Chris Taylor had the following to say about the meeting:
“The media is full of military men and women surprising their families upon their return from deployment, but it is very rare to see a military member get surprised by their loved ones. My husband has been in Afghanistan for the last year. He was one of the last group of Marines to come back from the war.”
The military wife went on to explain:
“Because he is stationed in California and our kids and I live in Maryland, he didn’t think that anyone would be there when he returned. But I showed him! I left Maryland Wednesday afternoon to make sure I arrived there in time to see his arrival on Thursday, and then came home on Friday. It was a short trip, but it was the best! I love you babe!”
