Grouper swallows shark in one bite and video goes viral. A Goliath grouper eats and swallows a black tip shark from a Florida fisherman and it was all caught on camera. The story behind the amazing video sheds light on how patient and smart the grouper is.
Sometime in early August, an unnamed man and a group of friends went fishing off the Florida coast and filmed the amazing footage of a giant grouper swallowing a shark whole in a one simple bite.
The individual who uses the name Gimbb14 on Reddit, explained that they started fishing near Bonita Springs around 8 AM, but was not having much luck.
The man who does briefly show his face in the clip said he threw a great amount of chum block into the Atlantic ocean hoping to attract some fish.
And the chum block worked, because within minutes they were able to reel in a 15lb Goliath grouper.
While bringing in the large grouper, the man spotted another grouper swimming nearby.
And at some point, it even tried to steal it from the fishermen, but in vain.
About 30 minutes later, Gimbb14 and his pal had another successful catch, this time around it was an impressive 4-foot blacktip shark.
The clan was thrilled to have caught such a big shark and as they were about to unhook it from the fisherman’s line, something shocking occurred.
The patient and smart fish jumped out of the water and swallowed the enormous shark, and vanished into the waters leaving the men baffled and giggling.
The video, which was posted on Youtube under the title “Grouper eats 4ft shark in one bite,” has almost 16 million views and has the world talking.
According to experts, a grouper can grow to more than 8 feet long and weigh over 800 pounds.
The large fish has an incredible feature, which makes it possible to suck in octopi, and crustaceans like a vacuum instead of chewing them into pieces.
