The comedian recently aired a hilarious skit on her Comedy Central TV series Inside Amy Schumer called “Girl, You Don’t Need Makeup” where a boy band inspired by One Direction sang a hilarious song about natural beauty – only to beg Schumer to put her makeup back on after they see her without. Using the #GirlYouDontNeedMakeup hashtag, Schumer has asked her followers to share pictures of themselves with no makeup, and hundreds of them have done so.
A “Girl, You Don’t Need Makeup” skit by Amy Schumer has pushed hundreds of women and even few men to post photos of themselves au natural.
On Tuesday, comedian and part-time stunt woman, (Did you catch her pretending to fall in front of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West at the Time 100 event?), Amy Schumer aired a skit entitled “Girl, You Don’t Need Makeup,” which was both funny and instructive.
The 3-minute skit featured a One Direction-like boy band singing a very Auto-Tuned sounding track, which encouraged women to ditch their makeup routines and embrace their natural beauty.
The lyrics of the silly song go something like this:
“Girl, it ain’t no lie, Just look deep into my eyes, You’re perfect and I think you should know , That you don’t need no lipstick, You don’t need no blush, Cuz you’ve got that inner natural glow.”
Poor Amy Schumer, after hearing the words of the track, she removed her makeup and showed the boys her natural self and they were shocked to the point that they begged her to please put back her foundation, mascara and fake eyelashes.
The band changed their tune and told the comedian:
“Girl, you do need makeup, Lots and lots of makeup, Think I’m a clown and then work your way back. You are great except your face, girl, Don’t take off your makeup Wear it when you sleep and swim.”
Inside Amy Schumer‘s “Girl, You Don’t Need Makeup” was a hit and rapidly went viral and women and couple of men all over the world started posting no-makeup photos with encouraging words.
Moved by some of the comments, Schumer tweeted:
We are sisters and fighters and laughers and happy strong women. Smile at yourself in the mirror girl. #girlyoudontneedmakeup much love!
