Gary Oldman added another divorce to his resumé – for those not keeping track – this is the fourth divorce for the star. It was a very costly split for Oldman, who is forced to pay Alexandra Edenborough $3.3 million and divide their assets evenly.
Gary Oldman, 57, is single and is ready to mingle after finalizing his fourth divorce. The Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy actor learned on Tuesday that he was officially a single man after Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Maren Nelson completed his divorce to Alexandra Edenborough.
Once more it was a very expensive split for Mr. Oldman, who had to sign a $3.3 million check to the British artist. Oldman, who wed Edenborough on New Year’s Eve in 2008 and separated in 2014, will also divide up his assets.
The great news is that Oldman will be allowed to keep certain possessions including two mansions and several luxury cars. Oldman has had very bad luck in the marriage department – in 1987, he married English actress Lesley Manville, but they split in 1989, just weeks after welcoming their son, Alfie.
While working on State of Grace with Uma Thurman, the pair fell in love, and they were married in 1990, but they separated in 1992. Oldman dated and was even engaged to Italian actress Isabella Rossellini in 1994, but separated two years later.
Oldman, who seems to be a real believer in true love, told himself third time’s the charm, married Donya Fiorentino in 1997 and had a very ugly divorce in 2001, which resulted in the actor gaining sole custody of the couple’s two sons – Gulliver and Charlie.
In 2014, Oldman did a controversial interview with The Independent where he insulted the Kardashians, (stating that his dogs have more grace than them, and they are making this generation brainless), and claimed that he was not proud to be a three-time divorcee. He stated at the time:
“I’m not proud to say that though. But I’ve had a few goes at it now, so I’ve probably learnt something from the first three. Practice makes perfect. Isn’t that what they say? I’m not proud that this is my fourth marriage. But this is a good one. Hopefully, my last one.”
On the Kardashian, he added:
“Its strange that we’re connecting more, but not. And it’s spawned a whole generation of bullies and everybody’s a critic; things they would never say to your face; people hide behind it. I just feel it’s all going to shit, like when you look at reality TV which is the museum of social decay. Yeah you look at these people, the Kardashians. My dog has more dignity than those f***ers. Really. You look at the manners of people, there’s no grace any more, there’s no respect. The way they talk about people is shocking. I don’t know where we’re heading.”
