Gabrielle Union bans phones from her upcoming wedding and the internet goes insane.
Think Like a Man Too actress Gabrielle Union is getting ready to wed her NBA star of a fiancé Dwyane Wade in Miami on August 30. The “Being Mary Jane” starlet is asking guests that will be there for the big wedding to leave their phones and cameras behind.
TMZ.com obtained the wedding invitation where Wade and Union explained clearly that attendees will have to do without their devices during their big day.
This is a shrewd business move because banning phones and cameras mean that the photos taken by their chosen photographer will be worth more.
It will also annoy these celebrities who are hooked on constantly updating their social media profiles. Some may even find all of this unbearable and skip the ceremony altogether. All of this is supposedly being done in the name of privacy.
The couple is also requesting that men wear black and women be in white. Guests will need photo ids to be allowed to the secret location.
Career wise the future married couple has been very busy lately. After promoting Think Like a Man Too, Gabrielle Union will appear later this year in the Chris Rock-directed comedy Finally Famous. Rock also has the leading role in the film which also includes Kevin Hart, Rosario Dawson, Sherri Shepherd and J.B. Smoove.
Finally Famous is the story of a comedian who wants to become a serious actor. It was shot in New York City in 2013.
Union’s future husband signed a new contract with the Miami Heat last week after his former Big 3 partner and good friend LeBron James left the team to go back to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Big 3 is now just a Big 2 with Chris Bosh. LeBron James who is expected to be at the wedding is very active on social media. It will be interesting to see how he handle the ban on phones.
Dwyane Wade’s wife-to-be is said to very happy about his decision to remain in Florida.
