Frances Bean Cobain and Isaiah Silva are officially married and surprise, her mother, Courtney Love, was not invited. Frances Bean, the daughter of Kurt Cobain and Love, wed Silva in a secret ceremony recently at an undisclosed location in front of a small group of friends.
It is official, Frances Bean Cobain is a married woman. According to several confirmed reports, Frances Bean, the 23-year-old daughter of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain and Hole frontwoman Courtney Love, recently wed her longtime boyfriend, Isaiah Silva.
It is not known where or when the wedding took place, but Love did not attend because she was not invited. Frances Bean said “I do” in a very small and private ceremony in front of few close friends and called her mother to announce the happy news.
Love and Cobain had a very small wedding with only eight people in attendance in 1992. The rocker wore his pajamas on his wedding day because he was too lazy to be bothered with a suit and tie.
An insider told The Mirror that Love was very sad that she did not see her only daughter walk down the aisle, but is happy for her. The source said:
“Courtney and Frances have had a strained relationship over the years, but after tons of fallouts they actually get on quite well now. Courtney is sad she wasn’t there but she totally understands that Frances is her own person and she’s happy to let her do her own thing. Plus, Isaiah is a really nice guy.”
The pal went on to say that Frances Bean Cobain and Isaiah Silva, who have been dating for over five years, are in a great place.
“Frances is totally loved up with Isaiah, but she’s never been one to broadcast it to the world.”
The drugs and alcohol led to countless fights between the mother and daughter, prompting Frances Bean to ask her maternal grandmother, Wendy O’Conner and her aunt, Kimberly Dawn Cobain, to become her legal guardians in 2009.
Despite inheriting over $170 million from her father, Miss Cobain is not a fan of his music. She told Rolling Stone:
“I don’t really like Nirvana that much [grins]. Sorry, promotional people, Universal. I’m more into Mercury Rev, Oasis, Brian Jonestown Massacre [laughs]. The grunge scene is not what I’m interested in. But ‘Territorial Pissings’ [on Nevermind] is a fucking great song. And ‘Dumb’ [on In Utero] – I cry every time I hear that song. It’s a stripped-down version of Kurt’s perception of himself – of himself on drugs, off drugs, feeling inadequate to be titled the voice of a generation.
The artist went on to reveal that she is very much like her father:
“It’s very weird how genes are. Dave [Grohl], Krist [Novoselic] and Pat [Smear] came over to a house where I was living. It was the first time [the ex-Nirvana members] had been together in a long time. And they had what I call the ‘K. C. Jeebies,’ which is when they see me, they see Kurt. They look at me, and you can see they’re looking at a ghost,” she admitted. “Dave said, ‘She is so much like Kurt.’ They were all talking amongst themselves, rehashing old stories I’d heard a million times. I was sitting in a chair, chain-smoking, looking down like this [affects total boredom]. And they went, ‘You are doing exactly what your father would have done.'”
